Hair Control
I
must admit I never thought about a page of dog hair control until
I found a silly little $10 rubber sweeper that changed how we
remove hair from our carpet.
Hair Control on Carpet and Furniture
1 - Sweep First. We have gone through a fair number of vacuums. No matter how many times we tear it apart and cleaned the hair just eats up a vacuum moving parts. Then we saw the One
Sweep, a rubber fingered broom that real sweeps up dog hair. Sweep you floors, carpet and furniture and you will have a pile of hair that is easy to pick up. I estimate the One
Sweep gets about 90%+ of the hair.
2
- Finish by vacuum. After sweeping it is a easy matter to finish
up with a vacuum. We prefer a vacuum that uses bags (we like
the
Oreck ).
Less likely to loose suction with plugged filters and easier
to dispose of the dirt. (here is our source for cheap
name brand vacuum bags).
Clothing Hair Removal
I have not found a better clothing hair removal tool than those sticky paper rollers. I have tried washable sticky rollers, brushes, rubber sponges (not bad but hard to clean) but the paper lint rollers are still my favorite. My best sources are eBay and JB Wholesale at under $3 each (watch the shipping!).
At the source
The best hair control is at the source (your dog). Brush and bath regularly. Ask your breeder about using hair removal tools like the Mars Coat King comb. And finish off with a good coat conditioner, our favorite is Summer Winds Protect a Coat.
